A country peasant gets drawn into a battle between two opposing civilizations when a magical sword with wondrous yet terrifying powers must be smuggled away, or risk that it fall into enemy hands. The Vorpal Sword had always been a force for good, despite having a testy personality of its own, but for years it’s been locked away because it inexplicably turns on anyone trying to wield it. Now, as a foe of the Kingdom of Manxome fight their way towards its last stronghold, Manxome castle, the task of protecting the mysterious weapon falls to a terrified peasant. The Vorpal Sword is set in the 1300’s in a medieval magical realism version of the Anglo-Celtic Isles (British Isles), and draws upon elements in Lewis Carroll’s poem, Jabberwocky.
